My deep love and respect to Maestro curandero Don Javier Arevalo Shahuano, my friend and teacher, for initiating me into his lineage of Amazonian healing. Don Javier is a 4th generation shaman from the Napo region of Peru. It is an honour to carry his songs, teaching, and healing with me as I travel with his permission, sharing this medicine. Puca Puca is one of his icaros, an icaro of the red parrot, that I have translated and modified for the guitar. It is my wish that the medicine of this song be felt by all who hear it.
